The Petalign® System is a system of clear plastic aligners designed to safely and effectively move teeth in pets. The veterinary dentist takes an impression, or mold, of the pet's teeth which is then used to construct the aligners. The pet owner learns how to place and remove them, and they should be worn for as many hours a day as possible, although they may be removed during meals and for cleaning the teeth. Although they are not effective for every orthodontic problem, they have significant advantages over traditional braces. They often require fewer anesthetic appointments and they can allow for better oral hygiene. A veterinary dentist can determine if this is the best choice for your pet.
